Twelve years ago, Hunter Gomez landed the role of Young Ben Gates, the kid version of Nicolas Cage’s character in National Treasure. In the film’s opening scene, Gomez listens his grandfather’s (Christopher Plummer) stories about the Knight’s Templar, Free Masons, George Washington, and one ginormous hidden treasure. Though his scene is short, it’s crucial to the plot of the film.

After National Treasure, Gomez guest-starred on Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. In 2014, he graduated from Arizona State University.

Recently, he played Hugh Harman in Walt Before Mickey, which explores the early years of Walt Disney’s life. Wizards of Waverly Place star David Henrie was also in the film.

  • Gomez has several projects in the works, including The Little Mermaid in 2017.

  • And because everything comes full circle, Gomez made Nic Cage proud (probably) by hanging out in Washington, D.C.

No word on if he stole The Declaration of Independence while he was there, but he was “casually modeling” inside the White House. As one does.
