Just a week after Michael Bublé announced he would be taking time off due to focus on his son’s battle with cancer, it’s been revealed that the singer’s three-year-old, Noah, has started undergoing chemotherapy.

The Canadian crooner’s sister-in-law, Daniela Lopilato, confirmed to an Argentinian magazine that Noah has started seeking treatment for live cancer. She added that the family found out about the cancer diagnosis on Nov. 1 following a liver biopsy.

“Cancer is a horrible disease, but we have faith that Noah will succeed. We know,” Lopilato told Gente magazine. “It was time to begin treatment. Will be long and hard, but you have to go. They say that children are usually strong to withstand chemotherapy … and my nephew is a warrior.”

Previously, Bublé and his wife, Luisana Lopilato, revealed that their son would be receiving treatment in the U.S.

“At this difficult time, we ask only for your prayers and respect for our privacy. We have a long journey in front of us and hope that with the support of family, friends and fans around the world, we will win this battle, God willing,” Bublé said in a statement.

The singer since canceled his appearance at the BBC Music Awards.
